zpd+a is hiring for immediate placement! We are an energetic, mid-sized studio-oriented firm that believes quality design is a priority on all projects, while maintaining an enjoyable, flexible, and balanced work environment. We are excited to be developing several hospitality, senior, mixed-use, multi family, corporate and Universal Design projects across Chicago and nationwide, and are expanding our dynamic team!

JOB TITLE
Project Manager - Interior Designer
JOB DESCRIPTION
Full time position for an Interior Designer with a minimum 8 years of experience in a professional studio setting, with knowledge of a variety of project types. The position will work directly with Principals as part of our Interior Design studio to represent the company to our clients and will supervise the work of junior staff.
Responsibilities would include (but not limited to):
Design creative and innovative spaces to support our clients’ needs
Lead each project through planning, design, visualization, coordination, and execution.
Produce drawings and related project documentation, from Schematic Design through to Construction Documentation, and delegate with junior staff as appropriate.
Conduct research and documentation of project related ordinances/regulations required by state codes and local jurisdiction.
Collaborate and coordinate with Architectural team and other consultants as required per project type and scope.
Participate in Construction Administration
Provide technical guidance to less experienced architectural staff.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Applicant should meet the following criteria:
Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture; Interior Design License preferred
LEED or other Sustainable focused accreditation preferred
Minimum 8 years of experience in design and construction; Commercial/ Hospitality preferred
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
Proficiency in Adobe suite programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), BlueBeam and ProCore
Robust knowledge of Contract/Hospitality Grade Furniture, Textiles, Finishes, Lighting, etc
Self motivated, client focused and detail oriented
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the process and components required to deliver innovative, yet realistic developed design solutions that satisfy each Client's stated functional; visual; and financial goals. They should take initiative, communicate effectively working within a team and demonstrate successful problem-solving skills.
