ZPD+A Architects, in collaboration with Mekus Tanager Inc., is designing Our Lady of Hope, a new collection of mausoleum buildings centered around a chapel at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. Mekus Tanager brings extensive experience in mausoleum design, while ZPD+A is leading the design of the chapel and coordinating the overall architectural vision. The master plan shown in the render balances organic formality and serenity.

Along the central axis, the landscape is structured and ceremonial, while the surrounding open areas transition to a more pastoral character. We were able to share aerial footage from Frank Rewold & Sons to capture the scope and building process as the project unfolds.

The mausoleum buildings gently curve to create a contemplative walking experience, with their faceted crypt faces producing dynamic sightlines and framed views of statues and mosaics. At the heart of the complex, the chapel serves as the spiritual and ceremonial core. Its large, uplifting pitched roof rises above the cemetery as a symbol of hope while filling the interior with natural light.
