The HCSC/BCBS Corporate Headquarters is a 29-story, 1.3-million-square-foot building completed on schedule and within budget — and the recipient of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International Office Building of the Year award for 2002–03. zpd+a served as owner's representative to Health Care Service Corporation throughout the full lifecycle of the project.

zpd+a principal James M. Damato, AIA was engaged directly by HCSC to lead the space needs analysis and establish site and building performance criteria from which the entire project was developed. The zpd+a team then guided HCSC through developer and architect team selection, site selection, site design, and building design — managing a comprehensive team of specialty consultants across programming, design, documentation, scheduling, construction, move coordination, and close-out.
