A complete transformation of a compartmentalized 1990s condominium into a bright, airy home for a couple downsizing from a family home and returning to city life. The design brief called for a clean break from the dated original interior — a fresh new chapter rather than an incremental refresh.

The material palette does the heavy lifting: high-gloss cabinetry, luminous backsplash tile, and bookmatched walnut base cabinets create layered textures that shift and change with the light throughout the day and across the seasons. Clean lines and reflective surfaces amplify both light and the sense of space, transforming what was a closed, dark floor plan into an interior that feels open, contemporary, and alive.
