Soldier Field (Chicago Bears), Chicago, IL

Based on zpd+a principal Vincent P. Ziolkowski's wide range of experience in the design and development of new stadiums for NFL franchises across the United States, zpd+a was asked to participate as a consultant to the Chicago Park District (CPD) as part of the CTE Engineers team. Beginning in the spring of 2001, zpd+a participated in design, budget and scope reviews with the Chicago Bears design team. zpd+a's input into initial stadium design review meetings with the design team enabled the CPD to effectively review all aspects of the facility.

During the construction phase, zpd+a specifically assisted in the negotiations of the ComEd agreement with the CPD. zpd+a provided intensive Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) oversight during the last six months of construction for the installation of the glass curtain wall system being installed on the suite levels. Services also included monitoring suite finishes, reviewing food service area finishes and equipment, and assisting the CPD in project close-out.
